Made in Space is bringing manufacturing to space through a suite of products that can be used on Earth, in low Earth orbit, and beyond.

Innovative ideas

  • Made in Space is taking an entrepreneurial approach to developing in-space manufacturing capabilities, leveraging both falling launch costs and current in-space assets such as the International Space Station (ISS).
  • While the long-term vision of the Company is to be able to provide the infrastructure needed for Mars settlement and deep-space exploration, the Company has developed technologies with current applications on Earth and in LEO to support and grow the business.
  • The company has developed a 3D-printer capable of working in space which is currently on the ISS, and has also built a device that is capable of producing optical fiber cable that is 100x more efficient than terrestrially produced fiber cable.

BIG potential

  • This fiber optic cable has massive applications on Earth for high-speed data transmission including data centers and long-haul telecommunications.
  • Manufacturing is a critical component of the space economy that will be needed. A scalable, low-cost method of providing materials to build structures and develop an infrastructure will be essential to pushing humanity beyond LEO.
